Engagement with the MMC

The current Mayor of Dhaka North, Md. Atiqul Islam, has served as a member of the MMC Leadership Board since 2022 and is the co-chair of the C40-MMC Global Mayors Task Force on Climate and Migration since 2021. The City of Dhaka North has also signed the Marrakech Mayors Declaration, pledged to the Call to Local Action for Migrants and Refugees in 2022, and represented the MMC in several diplomatic events, including the 2022 International Migration Review Forum.
