Engagement with the MMC

The current Mayor of San Antonio, Ron Nirenberg, has been a member of the MMC Leadership Board since December 2023. The City of San Antonio signed the Marrakech Mayors Declaration and pledged to the 2023 Call to Local Action for Migrants and Refugees. San Antonio also represented the MMC in diplomatic events, including the 2023 Global Refugee Forum, and participated in the MMC advocacy campaign on Afghan refugees.

San Antonio’s pledge to the 2023 Call to Local Action for Migrants and Refugees commits to serve migrants and refugees by funding its Migrant Resource Center for direct service delivery, becoming a certified Welcoming City, and engaging in national and global advocacy to improve immigration and asylum policies.
