Board and Partner Lead
Caroline joined the Mayors Migration Council from a joint role for Core Cities UK and Bristol City Council. For Core Cities UK she led the collective international work of the UK’s 11 core cities outside London, working with their Mayors and Leaders to drive relationships with the UK national government in London and abroad, with European cities, and with each other.
For Bristol City Council she led the Mayor’s international work including providing strategic advice on global engagement and participation in city networks; oversight of the city’s International Strategy Board and collaboration across Bristol on international activity; developing key international partnerships; working with the local diaspora population; overseeing the city’s links to its seven twin cities; and ensuring Bristol was a driving force in the global city diplomacy movement.
Previously Caroline was a start-up Director at the UK’s Future Cities Catapult; established the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s first international office in Delhi, India; ran two industry programmes for the WBCSD out of Geneva where she also worked for IUCN on ‘learning and leadership’. Her first job in London was for Good Business where she ran the J8 (Junior 8) Summit – the young people’s input to the annual G8 Summit, delivered by partnerships between UNICEF, a funder, and the national government, in each G8 country.
Caroline has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Cross-Sector Partnerships from Cambridge University, a Masters in Leadership in Sustainable Development from Forum for the Future, and is Bachelor in Geography from Oxford University. She is a published author and is based in Bristol, UK.
