Corine Mauch

Mayor of Zürich, Switzerland Leadership City

Corine Mauch was elected Mayor of the City of Zürich in May 2009. In her preceding political career she was a member of the City of Zürich’s parliament from 1999 to 2009, Vice President and President of the Social Democratic Party‘s City Parliament Group from 2002 to 2009 and President of the Parliament’s Audit Committee from 2006 to 2008. In her previous professional career Mrs Mauch worked for the Town of Uster, she was scientific assistant and associate at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich and at the University of Lausanne and became project manager for evaluation and impact control for the Parlamentary Services of the Swiss Federal Assembly in 2008. Corine Mauch attended the University of Zürich as well as the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich where she graduated in agricultural engineering (dipl. Ing.-Agr. ETH Zürich). Additionally, she undertook postgraduate studies at the University of Lausanne and earned a Master’s Degree in political and administrative sciences. Born 1960 in Iowa City in the United States, she speaks German, French, English and Mandarin.
